Get to know Coach Brad
I'm a dad, husband, neighbor, volunteer, and to some I'm Coach Brad. I want to be the voice that champions our children's rights to a good education. I have been actively involved in the classroom, on the field, and I have been present at most all Sedro-Woolley School District meetings with my wife Katy, who was born and raised in Sedro-Woolley, for over two and a half years.
More than half of Sedro-Woolley students are below average grade levels, including my daughter who is struggling with core subjects. Instead of assigning curriculum to help bridge the gap at home, homework assignments have been cut from the budget to save money on paper.
With a $89 Million dollar budget, we're spending far to much on students to be struggling with fundamentals. We need to get back to the basics!
I've volunteered in the classroom and have seen students falling between the cracks at school because they don't pose behavioral challenges in the classroom.
Our focus should be on EVERY STUDENTS SUCCESS.
I will push for smart spending with strong academic support, and real community involvement where all voices are heard. Let's work together and set up every child in Sedro-Woolley for success.
